Episode 7: “Other’s Expertise”

An open secret, to those in the know, is that “no man is an island” and even the most seasoned leaders rely on “other’s expertise.” The obvious starting point is your peers and direct reports who have developed knowledge through years of practice and execution in their professional capacities. Beyond this are a myriad of external parties from bulge-bracket firms to niche players that fill the gaps. I would encourage us all to make a point of meeting others, learning about them, and adding them to your network because you just never know the future and you may just be very grateful that you do. I know I am and whenever opportunity arises I am honored to be someone’s dial-a-friend.
